Who’s the man wearing Figment Man by Amouage? Could it be you?

During one of my fragrant olfactory explorations, I became fascinated by the strong personality and great cultural background of Amouage‘s creative director: Christopher Chong.

As a music fan, I could only fall in love with him! Debuting as a baritone, he has always loved Barthes’ semiotics and Lyrics, out of which oozes the inspiration for the creations of the Maison.

Its scents are truly multifaceted, and have many ways of being experienced. Figment Man is a male fragrance that must be worn more than once in order to give it a proper appraisal and really decipher it.

The fresh head notes of lemon, geranium and pink pepper can mislead you from the true essence of this scent, which finds its very soul in the heart of sandalwood and vetiver, and in the deep base notes of Guaiac wood, labdanum and earthy notes.

Like Chong: visionary, but with his feet on the ground.

It is no coincidence that “Figment” means “the fruit of the imagination”, while the ingredients that make up the base suggest the idea of strength and stamina, as in the case of the Guaiac wood, musk and the leather of the labdanum, plus the solidity of its earthy notes.

I view the man who wears this fragrance, or is thinking about doing so, as both mysterious and down-to-earth at the same time. He has a well-defined philosophy of life, and is pragmatic in his choices as well as in the pursuit of his goals.
He loves to dress in a practical, elegant and casual manner, and pays attention to the fabric and details of the clothing he wears.

I see him in a herring-bone patterned woolen coat with a reverse collar with cut edges, a merino wool ribbed turtleneck sweater, brown woolen trousers and trainers – all by Falconeri.
In his moments of leisure, l’homme Figment dresses sporty but never forgets to add his own touch; denim Jeans with a deconstructed tobacco-colored velvet blazer, with cotton and cashmere stripes by Brunello Cucinelli.

Figment Man: a modern symphony of a man’s many features.
